Today’s post was originally going to be about how the new Monopoly Empire Game excludes Jail and replaces locations with brands , but it was too short so I added my Star Wars Monopoly Game to it. I later took out the Monopoly Empire part , as it was swallowed whole by my Star Wars Game. So today’s post is about my 1999 Star Wars Episode I Monopoly Game. I included lots of nice Pictures in this post so enjoy!
Betcha can’t guess where I got this? Goodwill , of course! I paid about four dollars for this and everything but the box is in GREAT CONDITION! At my local Goodwill , they don’t treat their stuff very well : they wrote the price on this box and used lots of packing tape to keep it shut. Nonetheless , it’s amazing. Though Episode One may not be my favorite Star Wars Film , I don’t hate it at all. Its got lots of nice Star Wars Figures and Cards as well as the Game Board with Star Wars locations and Star Wars Credits!
Here is a Picture of the Game Board!
Here is everything in the box:
From what I can tell by reading the Instruction Manual , this is complete and even has a few extra pieces! The open slots in the box are for the players’ Credits.
Here are the Figurines!
And my favorite : The Emperor!
What do you guys think of this Monopoly Game? Do you like it? Please comment what you think! GOD BLESS!
Along with most successful Video Games comes merchandise such as Action Figures , Plushies , and LCD Mini-Games , though the latter fazed out a few years ago. Since I’m a big fan of Sonic and Pac-Man , I thought I should post about the best of the best merchandise. Let’s Start off with Pac-Man!
LCD Pac-Man Game
This is the cooler Lit one that is transparent. It’s got lots of extra functions like Pause , New Game , Two Player , Sound ON/OFF , and Player/Check. The Zones consist of multiple “Floors” that make up the map.
Arcade Candy Tin
The Arcade Candy Tin is amazing. It has lots of details and is low-priced. Look at the Game Screen!
Light-Up Sound-Making Ornaments
Though these are rather expensive , they are totally worth it. Press a Button and the Screen and Banner light up while sounds from the Game play. They retailed around $30 each when they came out , but the price is bound to have changed by now.
Ms./Pac-Man and Ghost Wind-Up
This is my NM Ms. Pac-Man 1982 Wind-Up. The fact that Ms. Pac-Man has pretty much been left out from all the modern Pac-Man Games makes it even more cool , as there isn’t anymore merchandise like this.
Pac-Man and Ghost (Blinky) Wind-Ups
These look great! You wind them up and they race around in circles. Plus the box can be closed back , unlike the Carded Ms. Pac-Man Wind-Up.
Very unique and only a Dollar! Nice and Nerdy!
That’s all for Pac-Man . Now time for Sonic!
Dr. Eggman (Robotnik) Plushie
Though Sonic X was terrible , there was still some good merchandise that relates to the Games. This Robotnik Plushie is a great figure that is one of the stars of my collection.
Sonic Spinball Machine
This is a fun machine with artwork from Sonic the Hedgehog Spinball (Game Gear/Master System). It’s got fun Sound Effects and a flashing light. It also has an LCD Display that will display a Score up to 99,999 Points.
Sonic the Hedgehog Archie Comics
Though the Archie Comics are a little too expansive compared to how the Games are (which are also too expansive themselves!) it’s still good to have something similar to the TV Shows , since the only good one was SatAM and that and the others are all gone.
Nooowwww…… for the best merchandise that BOTH Pac-Man AND Sonic have in common…..
TV GAMES!!! It is the cheapest way to get Arcade Perfect ports of Classic Games , since the Games on Virtual Console and Live Arcade are Emulations , not Ports. TV Games Still remain today , though Pac-Man TV Games are pretty much gone.
That’s today’s late post. I hope you like it! Please Comment , GOD BLESS!
22 Years ago today , Sonic the Hedgehog was released. This Blue-Blur was Mario’s first real threat that also captured the hearts of millions. Sonic took the Video Game World by storm and is still very popular today. Though our friend has had multiple failures and stumbles throughout his life , he eventually stabilized and had many years of good Games.
When I was around five , my Dad gave me his SEGA Nomad and he hooked it up to the TV and I played lots of Games , but one stood out : Sonic the Hedgehog! I loved the Game so much that I got all the Toys and Plush that I could , and clung to them dearly. Sonic was a perfect Game back then. A little bit after that , Sonic Heroes came out , but by then the Nomad didn’t work. My parents got me a Sonic Compilation with most of the Genesis titles on it , and I played that so much more than Heroes that when my Dad saw me playing SH , he said “Glad to see you playing this!”. A few years later , the XBox 360 was released , and , along with it , the famous Sonic 06. I was devastated that I couldn’t get it , but later my Dad’s cousin gave us a 360. That Christmas , I got Sonic 06 , which is still one of my favorite Modern Sonic Games. Life went on , and I still remained a Sonic Fan. Ten years later , I am still dedicated. So a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the World’s Fastest , Awesomest , and Greatest Hedgehog: HAPPY BIRTHDAY SONIC!!!!!
(By the way , let’s not forget it’s Eggman’s Birthday too!) God Bless y’all , and God Bless Sonic!
In a recent post I told of a Mrs. Pac-Man Wind-Up that I picked up on EBay , so now I am going to post about it!!
I got it nearly mint for $4.99 and the owner was selling 89 of them. The price has lowered by 50c , and as of now there are only 3 left!
To be 31 years old , it’s in nice shape. I will never open it , so I cannot tell how well the wind-up function works. From what I’ve seen , it seems that it opens and closes its mouth while it wiggles and moves around. They really don’t make toys how they used to! Its got a cute little ghost (Inky) trapped inside Mrs. Pac-Man , obviously not good for him.
The entire collection along with a tempting little advertisement above them. I do eventually plan on purchasing the rest of the collection. This is the only cheap one I could find though.
That is this weeks BFTP! I did get many cool LEGO sets that I will write about soon! Please comment , GOD BLESS!
At Classics Rising , I try to keep it regular ; a post every day or at least every other. So you may have wondered why there has been no posts in the past few days , but don’t worry , I have a good excuse!!
Me and my family went to Atlanta for a job my Dad had to do. While we were there , we swung by Kennesaw , which has one of the best antique stores ever! Big Shanty Antiques and Gifts is located in Kennesaw , Georgia , and has many great antiques , as well as vintage stuff from the 80’s and the 90’s. They have low prices , and great products! The store has entire areas devoted to toys , but , even better , Star Wars! I wanted to get lots of figures , but for a low price. I saw some good regular-sized figures , but something else struck my fancy:
A 1993 Micro-Machines Return of the Jedi mini-vehicle set (Collection #3). I picked this up in one of the awesomest Star Wars toy areas you could ever find. It only cost me $2.99 , and for 3 vehicles , that’s worth it! It includes an AT-ST (My fave!) , Jabba’s Sail Barge , and a B-Wing Fighter.
A 1996 Star Wars Figure set from the “Jedi Search” book. It has Admiral Daala , Moruth Doole , and Kyp Durron figures , as well as Sun Crusher , Z-95 Headhunter (X-Wing) , and Tie Interceptor Vehicles. I chose this one since it had the most recognizable vehicles , and the one from the book was the best-looking of the Expanded Universe ships. Once again , only $2.99.
Also I found an amazing deal : a SEALED Namco Classic Tv Game!
This is from 2003 and has the original Arcade versions of Pac-Man , Galaxian , Dig-Dug , Bosconian , and Rally-X. It’s really cool and amazing how it’s still sealed and almost mint after 10 years. It was only $7.99!
I was reading the bottom of the package when I found something funny:
I guess it doesn’t have the sinner’s warranty! Won’t be needing that anyway!
That’s all I got from the Antique Store , but I got some more stuff after that!
I got this for free at Chick-Fil-A:
I also got this Pac-Man stress ball (which will remain sealed as squeezing it will give it cracks):
Last , but in no means not least , is this Shadow Figure with Mono Beetle :
I think the official term for a post or video like this (where one posts about new stuff they bought) is a haul. Upon posting this , I am introducing a new weekly post : Blast from the Past! Once a week me or a member will make a post about a toy or game (or ect.) from the good ole days!! To make a post , please contact me . GOD BLESS!
Have you ever wished that you could have Pac-Man and Blinky chase each other around your house all day? Well , now you can!! Introducing , PAC-MAN WIND UPS!!
I found these in a search for cheaper Pac-Man RC’s. I decided to get this instead since it is half the cost of the RC and you get Pac-Man and the Ghost!!!! I got mine on Amazon for a low $12. Here is the link http://www.amazon.com/Play-Visions-Pac-Man-Wind-Up-2-Pack/dp/B005RW1YHE/ref=pd_ys_iyr1 . I have a nice little video also at http://www.godtube.com/watch/?v=09M01JNU . They are really fun and half the size of the RC’s but just as fun! Please comment , GOD BLESS!
SEGA has decided to give away a rare item! It is the 20th anniversary Sonic the Hedgehog statue!!!!! Enter the contest by buying something off http://www.sonicmerchandise.com/ from now until Saturday December 15th . Once you’ve done that , you will be entered in a drawing to WIN this statue FREE!
I REALLY want it but I don’t have anything to buy of off the website. I am saving my money to buy everyone CHRISTmas presents. Plus I just ordered Sonic 3D Blast from eBay yesterday so my parents aren’t going to let me buy anything for a while……. Sad , isn’t it? The statue shows modern Sonic standing on the “Green Hill Zone” with a TV box (which contained power ups , bundles of rings , or extra lives in the original games) with classic Sonic in it. The background in the TV is a 90’s sorta l00king design , since classic Sonic was made in the 90’s. I think this is the AWESOMEST thing ever for SEGA to give away. Anyone wanna give me one? Anyway , if you get one of these , please comment and send in a pic! Please comment , GOD BLESS!
I was looking on the Sonic Merchandise webpage and somehow got to a different country’s version (Germany I think) and saw that they have all the new products already! I suppose that these are 2013 products , since they are all labled as “Out of Stock” meaning that they have not come in yet. Even LEGO.com shows new products earlier for other countrys’ versions of the website than US’s. Here are some good pics I got.
Dr.Eggman/ Dr. Ivo Robotnik rubber keychain. It is E3.49 in that country , but the $30 Eggman shirt is $20 in that country , so I can not determine the USD price. It looks good , and it’s got Robotnik on it , so DUH I’m gunna buy it.
I wish they would make a small Dr. Robotnik one ! It would be awesome! I might not get these individually , since I can get all of them in the classic figures pack.
Well that is about it. What do you guys think? Please comment , GOD BLESS!
Dr. Eggman VS Dr. Robotnik is probably one of the most popular Sonic arguements on the internet. It is not a battle between supervillians , but more of a who’s-who arguement. Let’s start out with Dr. Robotnik.
Dr. Ivo Robotnik was created for the 1991 video game “Sonic the Hedgehog” in which he was the enemy of Sonic. The manual of some games call him “Dr. Ivo Robotnik (AKA Dr. Eggman)” . He is more commonly referred to as “Dr. Robotnik” in the other Sonic titles.
In 1998 , Sonic Adventure was released , with the new design now mostly referred to as “Dr. Eggman” . Since then , all new Sonic games had this variant. It has made websites around the world ask the question “Is Dr. Eggman Dr. Robotnik?” with no official answer……. UNTIL NOW! I went to SEGA and asked , and they said “Dr. Eggman is an alias!” . I googled that and it basically is a nick-name by which a person is more known than there real name. So Dr. Eggman is just a redesigned Dr. Robotnik , going by his alias. It seems simple now but for some people it may be hard to swallow . But think about this , in 1998 they redesigned Sonic and all the other characters , including Robotnik! Get it? There is the answer to all Robotnik VS Eggman arguements! GOD BLESS!
